As far as red heads go, there are only three that exist in my world: Jayma Mays, Christina Hendricks and Felicia Day. While all three are a thrill to watch on TV, the former two don't come close to possessing the nerd cred Felicia Day has under her belt.
Though her mainstream claim to fame came in the form of guest appearances on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and House, her stardom amongst the geek culture stems from the web series The Guild, which she wrote and produced herself. In The Guild, Felicia Day plays Cyd Sherman, who is often referred to by her avatar name, Codex. The series focuses on the lives of an MMORPG (think World of Warcraft) guild called "The Knights of Good," and the awkward situations they must face in RL (real life). The Guild has won numerous awards, including Streamys for Best Comedy Web Series, Best Ensemble Cast in a Web Series, Best Female Actor in a Comedy Web Series (Felicia Day).
One of my favorite works of Felicia Day is the 2008 musical comedy, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, created by Buffy/Firefly brainchild, Joss Whedon. The short film stars Neil Patrick Harris (NPH!) and Nathan Fillion as a musical number belting super-villain and hero, respectively. Felicia plays Penny, the love interest of both characters. Dr. Horrible was such a huge success that a sequel is currently in the works.
Currently, Felicia Day is working on a Syfy original series call Red, which will be a retelling of the children's story Little Red Riding Hood, only with guns...and werewolves. Awesome, right?
